a few of my favorite things

Each day our new little place is feeling more and more like home. Even though we moved back in August, busy schedules have a way of not allowing one to settle. These are a few of my favorite places in our apartment. Most of the little trinkets have been collected from flea markets, antique shops and thrift stores. The locket is a gift from my beau - a locket from the 20s.

Today has been a day of walking around the fall streets of Brooklyn and fiddling about the apartment. I did manage to get this fabulous dress added to my etsy shop. This one is a true treat!

Philadelphia architecture~
I took these from the passenger's seat of the car. I am truly in love with this city's architecture. In the most impoverished neighborhoods, some of the most beautiful secrets are kept.

summer days

These past few days have been quite hot in the city of brotherly love. The more the heat rises, the less I want to do. I did get up and out long enough to shoot some sneak peaks of upcoming shop items and to take Edgar out in the backyard. E is an indoor cat but loves being outside, especially when he is munching on grass~

7.28.09

This September, I am off to art school in NYC. The past few weeks have been a a flurry of searching for apartments, completing paperwork and sorting through my belongings. Today, we finally got word that we have a place. I am so relieved! These shots are from the other weekend, taken at a stop in Long Island City.

a sunny thursday

I remember when I found this dress. My grandfather and I were at a local flea market. This was maybe 5 or so years ago. As we were heading down maybe the fourth aisle, my heart began to quicken its pace. One of the sellers was loaded down with vintage (often, I still picture this scene in my head). Dresses, top, bottoms, bags, you name it. I scooped up as many items as I could afford and paid. My head was still spinning. I wanted to empty my bank account and take it all home. Years later, I still adore this dress. From years of wear, mine and the former owner's, it is becoming slightly tattered, but I think I will probably wear it until it falls apart at the scenes.
